This arcanum depicts the pale face of our satellite which is reflected in a swamp. At the center of this, an enormous crab, in analogy with the zodiacal sign of Cancer domicile of the Moon, with the month of July, with the night, with Monday, devours all the residues so that the water does not give off bad smells; translated from the symbolic to the real this means that the weight of the past must be gradually lightened for renewal to lead to constant evolution.

Near the swamp two Dogs, the constellations of Canis Maior and Canis Minor, guard the road which would astronomically belong to the Sun, distrusting, with their barking, the Moon from moving away from the ecliptic; they are the defenders of order, of the untouchable rights of property.

The Moon symbolizes fluid solutions related to intuition, imagination, prophetic dreams; memories revealed; reflection, withdrawal, unconscious, secret forces, mutability, pregnancy. The arcane also reassures that the deceptions carried out to the detriment of the consultant will have no outcome.

In the negative: slander, gossip, hidden enemies are expected instead; stagnation, sterile memories, nefarious influence of the past, fantasies that delay evolution; misconceptions, jealousy, scandal; a latent, unforeseen danger; deceptive dreams, an invitation to reflect and not blindly trust intuition; disappointments, misfortunes, sufferings. Subject has pursued a career that does not suit him. Abulia, lack of will, create confusion, discontent; treason, adultery, hypocrisy, snares; false friends, dishonesty. The eighteenth arcana, related to Monday, to water, to the month of July, summarizes the characteristics of the conservative, dreamer individual. Indicates insincere relationships, superficiality, conflicting influences. Physically it causes rheumatism, cellulite, hallucinations, neurosis, cancer, gout, physical suffering and suicidal tendency.
